How to Enter the Emirates Stadium and Finding Your Seat?

Following is a detailed guide with all the info you need to know about entering the Emirates stadium and finding your seat nice and easy.

So, you have your Arsenal tickets in hand – whether it’s a membership card with a printout, a digital mobile ticket or an already printed eTicket or a paper ticket – your ticket will have the following info with your seat details:

Note: After Covid 19 health guidelines allowed football fans back in stadiums, Arsenal started using digital mobile tickets as well that can be displayed on your mobile phone and scanned before entering through the turnstile. It can be used on an iPhone with a Wallet app or on an Android phone with NFC (near field communication) App turned on along with a Gpay app. You will receive detailed instructions before.

What Can I Bring to the Emirates Stadium? Entering the Stadium & Security Check

Having found the correct entrance to the Stadium, the probability is that you will be searched by Arsenal staff before you enter the stadium. If your fixture is a Category A game or there is a concern about violence, the club warns search dogs may also be used.

You should be aware of Article 6 of the Ground Regulations which lists items prohibited to bring into the stadium:

 

Knives; fireworks; smoke canisters; air-horns; flares; weapons; hand tools; dangerous or hazardous items; laser devices; glass bottles; glass vessels; cans; poles; “selfie sticks”; buggies or prams; large bags or suitcases; musical instruments; large umbrellas; plastic bottles with a capacity greater than 500 ml; flags or banners which are too large and/or bear material or slogans that are offensive, obscene, abusive or racist; and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety. Any person in possession of such items may be refused entry to or ejected from the Ground., Article 6, Ground Regulations.

It is advised not to bring the following items, although some are permitted, but it will just force you to wait in line for the security check, among those items are all kinds of bags and carry-alongs such as: bags, luggage, computers, umbrellas etc. If you’re coming to the match straight from the airport, you should deposit your carry-alongs elsewhere before entering the Stadium.

Getting to the Correct Turnstile & Scanning Your Ticket at the Barcode Scanner

Once past the search staff, you will find the turnstiles are electronically operated. It is important that you go to the correct Turnstile as appear on the printout or eTicket. Here’s a table that maps the blocks and turnstiles at the stadium. Note, your ticket will only work at the correct turnstile.

On the wall next to the turnstile is a barcode scanner. Place your membership card or ticket into the scanner so it can be read.

Provided your ticket is valid, the scanner light turns green and you can pass through the turnstile to enter the Emirates Stadium.

Once inside, there is the possibility of a further search depending upon the fixture.

It is only natural to stop on entering the concourse to look at the signs pointing to the various tiers and sections in that area of the stadium. However, please remember that the turnstiles are in constant use and you may find other fans impatient for you to move.

The concourse areas in every area of the ground are well signed and follow the directions to your seat. Every seat is numbered and easy to find. Stewards are available at every entrance for assistance.

Finding Your Seat

Once in the stadium environs, there is plenty of signage to direct you to the part of the stadium where your seat is found. There are wide concourses outside so bottlenecks are few and far between.

 

Where is the Away Fans Section at the Emirates Stadium?

Please note that you cannot buy away fan’s seats directly from Arsenal.

Away fans are housed in the south-eastern corner of the stadium. The concourse behind the away supporter’s section is a self-contained unit, complete with concession stands and video highlights shown on television screens. Refreshments and light food (pies) can be purchased on the away section.

Can I Pay Cash at Arsenal Emirates Stadium?

The Emirates is a cashless stadium, meaning, that inside the stadium, you can only use card payments and cannot pay in cash – that includes all kiosks, bars, restaurants and retails outlets.  In addition, there are no ATM machines inside the stadium.

Can I Drink at Emirates Stadium?

When entering the stadium, you can bring in refreshments with you in small plastic bottles or flasks, bottles from glass and other material are not allowed. As to alcoholic beverages, you cannot bring them in with you but you can purchase beer inside the stadium (at Kiosks and also on bars of the club level area) – there are newly installed “fast track beer lanes” at the stadium aiming to improve the speed of the service.

Do You Get Wet When it Rains at the Emirates Stadium?

The Emirates stadium has a translucent polycarbonate roof covering the stand area (leaving the pitch uncovered) so when it rains and you’re on the first few rows of the lower tier you might get wet, otherwise you’re covered. It is advised to be dressed up worm during winter time as to any other regular outdoor event.
